How we're organized
Each of our business segments offer significant opportunities to expand your skills as well as establish a rewarding career supporting our commitment to provide safe and reliable electric service to our customers. Following is just a brief overview of our major business segments.

Regulated Services segment
This segment designs, builds, operates and maintains FirstEnergy's regulated transmission and distribution systems, which move electricity from power plants to customers. Our electric system consists of seven operating companies and one transmission subsidiary.

The following operating companies distribute electricity to customers:

Ohio Edison Company
Pennsylvania Power Company (Penn Power)
The Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company (The Illuminating Company)
The Toledo Edison Company
Jersey Central Power & Light Company (JCP&L)
Metropolitan Edison Company (Met-Ed)
Pennsylvania Electric Company (Penelec)

American Transmission Systems, Inc. (ATSI)
ATSI owns major, high-voltage transmission facilities and plans, operates, and maintains its system in accordance with North American Electric Reliability Council (NERC) requirements and other applicable regulatory agencies to ensure reliable service to customers.

Power Supply Management Services segment
Power Supply Management Services owns and operates FirstEnergy's generating facilities and purchases electricity from the wholesale market when needed to meet sales obligations. This segment primarily consists of the following subsidiaries: FirstEnergy Solutions Corp (FES), FirstEnergy Generation Company (FGCO), FirstEnergy Nuclear Generation Company (NGC), and FirstEnergy Nuclear Operating Company (FENOC).

FirstEnergy Service Company
Another major segment is the FirstEnergy Service Company subsidiary, which provides legal, financial and other corporate support services to affiliated FirstEnergy companies.
