Get Help With...Saving Energy
Bedroom and bath
Showers. Showers generally use less hot water than baths. Water-saving shower heads can save even more. Smaller appliances. Some smaller personal appliances may use high wattage, but since they're typically used for only short periods of time their operating cost is relatively low. Waterbeds. * Keep heated waterbeds covered, preferably with a comforter, when not in use - especially in a cool or unheated room. * Insulate the bottom and sides of the waterbed frame. Using 1-inch rigid foam insulation all around can reduce operating costs by about 25%. * Take advantage of the sun. Locate your waterbed where the sun can shine on it and help keep the water warm.
